Big Boy on E Jefferson in Detroit, MI 48207

The video below is the rotating Big Boy statue at the Big Boy Restaurant at 7033 E. Jefferson Ave in Detroit, MI 48207, just west of E. Grand Blvd going to Belle Isle.

Lauhoff Building, Chene St, Detroit, MI 48207

This is the Lauhoff Corporation building at 241 Chene Street, Detroit, MI 48207. 

It's closed down but still intact and sits in the warehouse district of downtown, a block or so off the Detroit River.

I was drawn to it's red and off-pink brick and the deep green windows, doors, and trim.

This was a family operated business manufacturing milling and food machinery products and employed a staff of 10 to 19 people.

2217 Franklin, Detroit, MI 48207

This is the building at 2217 Franklin, Detroit, MI  48207 in the Rivertown-Warehouse District of downtown. It's got an interesting look so I snapped a few pics.

Big Pink, Detroit, MI 48214

In Detroit, you can be driving along and see beautifully maintained homes then a few streets away, it looks like you entered a war zone -  burned out and abandoned houses. That's what I saw when I drove down this street east of downtown.

This pink building was formerly a neighborhood Cleaners.

And Elmer and Gasm were here. Or maybe it's Elmer Gasm.

But I love the colors of this building.

Driving Rosedale Park, Detroit, MI 48219

The video below is Rosedale Park south of Grand River. I drive Ashton Rd south to Lyndon Ave then back up to Grand River. The Rosedale Park district has the largest number of individual properties of any district nominated to the National Register of Historic Places in Michigan, with 1533.

Houses on Commonwealth Street, Detroit. MI 48208 - Part 2

Here are some of the houses on Commonwealth Street, Woodbridge Historical District, Detroit, MI 48208. They are mostly three-story Victorian, some are single-family homes, some are duplexes, while a few have been converted to apartments. On some of the corners and side streets, you'll see some two and three-story apartment buildings.
